The Poisoned House - A Review

Fifteen-year-old, servant girl, Abi has a tough life working as a scullery maid at Greave Hall.  Between the long grueling hours and the hateful, mean head house-keeper, Mrs Cotton, Abi's life is anything but wonderful.

However, when a ghostly apparition starts to cause havoc around the mansion, Abi sets out to discover a painful truth that will have her questioning everything she thought was true.

The Poisoned House by Michael Ford is a good-ole-fashioned ghost story.  The fact that it's set back in the 1850's only adds to the elements that make-up a thrilling story.  It was suspenseful and kept me guessing right to the very end.  And even though it's written for ages 13 and up, it kept me in gripping suspense.

If you only read one book this year, it's got to be The Poisoned House - totally awesome.  I LOVED it!!

Find it on Albert Whitman & Company, and Amazon
