Boo Tin

The BIG day is almost here, are you ready? 

If you're stuck for a nice way to deliver a Halloween treat to a special friend, family member or even someone in the hospital, nows the time to pull out all those old cookie tins you've been saving. 

Hint:  Didn't keep any tins?  Check the craft or dollar stores for inexpensive containers.

What You Need:

~  Tin container - any shape or size
~  Black and Orange acrylic craft paint
~  Decorative Ribbon
~  Stickers
~  Black Foamy
~  Glitter Glue/Regular Glue
~  Black Raffia String
~  Cardboard Letters
~  Tiny Decorative Craft Stars
~  Blue Glitter
~ Thin Craft Wire
~  Spray Glue

Paint the tin with black paint and set aside to dry.  Paint B O O letters orange, dry then orange glitter glue them, dry.

Cut and wrap decorative ribbon around dry tin, glue in place.  Glitter glue around the top and bottom of ribbon (optional).

Take decorative stickers and stick to Foamy.  Cut around.  Take 2 inches of craft wire and twist around pencil to coil.  Take coil and glue to back of foamy-sticker.  Space around tin and glue into place.

Take lid of tin and spray a light coat of glue and sprinkle with blue glitter - shake off excess.  Place small glitter stars around the top and rim of lid (you may need to use craft glue to keep them in place).

Place B O O where you want and glue into place.

Fill with your favorite treats and wrap raffia string around to give extra hold.

Finished!

This craft is easy and from the heart.  Plus, it's good for the environment.  Have fun =)

A Recycled Halloween

I love doing crafts and most of all I love coming up with cool ways to reuse containers, (I keep anything that looks like it would hold candy or home-made goodies).

This basket once held fresh peaches, but now has been transformed into a Halloween container fit for any gift-giving need.

What You Need;

~ Plastic produce basket (with or without lid)

~ Decorative Paper

~ Black Raffia String

~ Orange Ribbon

~ Halloween Stickers

~ Glue

I simply cut paper to fit around the basket and glued into place.  The same for the orange ribbon.  I then unravelled the Raffia String, made a bow in the middle and glued in place at the end of the basket.  Repeat for other side. 
Hint:  To hide the ribbon ends you can place a sticker or make smaller bows or just criss-cross as I did for this one.

The lid had holes already in it so I weaved the Raffia as it comes off the roll in and out of the holes leaving some slack at the top - glue in place.  Cut a length of paper or ribbon for the handle and glue.  Decorate with Halloween stickers (optional).

Fill with goodies.

Finshed! 

Makes a great project for the kids.  And the recipents LOVE it.

Strawberries for Halloween?

Well not quite, but the containers sure are useful.              

I put this together in about an hour.  It makes a great way to present caramel popcorn, or other homemade goodies to a friend or family member.

All you need;

~  Strawberry or other plastic woven-type basket
~  Decorative paper
~  Ribbon
~  Glue

It's simple enough to make, just cut the paper to the width and length you'll need to weave around the basket.  Glue ends together.

Do the same for the ribbon.  You can also add stickers, dried flowers, glitter, anything your imagination wants.  This would also make a great rainy day activity for the kids as little to no supervision is required.
