Ghost Nest - Resist the Ordinary

Spring is coming, are you thinking of making a decorative change?  Why wait until the weather is cooperative to paint that room?  Head on over to Ghost Nest to begin personalizing your space now - without the inconvenience, fumes and mess of painting.

This is one of the most inexpensive, innovative ideas I've come across in a long time. Ghost Nest knobs can change the look of any ordinary dresser or cupboard instantly.  And the best part is you don't have to settle for a mass-produced product you can upload your own images to be placed on the knob of your choice.

The knobs themselves are universal and come in square or round, made with heavy-duty clear plastic or stainless steel.  Don't have any use for knobs?  Check out the cool, simple ideas for making a coat rack at Ghost Nest

To get started all you need to do is go to the Ghost Nest website and upload any image of your choice onto a selected knob. How easy is that?!

Don't delay begin today.  Check out Ghost Nest's image gallery here for inspiration and a closer look at their products.

Want to win a $25.00 Gift Certificate towards your very own Ghost Nest knobs?  Just leave a comment about what needs sprucing up in your home.  I will do a random draw on Friday February 18'th.  Winner will be provided with a digital gift certificate.  Good Luck!

Witchy-Bear Halloween Fun

Recycling and reusing are the in thing to do, so I've been coming up with different ideas for Halloween fun that doesn't cost a fortune and is good for the environment.

Witchy-Bear is made from a recycled honey container.  Check it out....

Here's what you'll need;

- Empty plastic bear-shaped honey bottle - wash and dried
- Glue
- Stickers
- Black paint
- Black Raffia String
- Orange ribbon
- Decorative paper
- Candy to fill such as candy corn

Take the empty bear-shaped honey container wash and dry thoroughly. Peel off the product stickers.

Remove lid and paint with black acrylic paint. After it's dry glue on silver craft stars and add the orange ribbon. Set aside.

Cut decorative paper to fit front and back of container (where product stickers were). Glue and add stickers to embellish.

Cut ribbon to make a cape and glue around bear, leaving an opening at the front - you can add some extra ribbon of a different type of colour to add around the cape as well.  Glue into place.

Take the black raffia string, measure around the lid and add about 1.5 inches, cut and unravel. Hot glue this around the base of the lid scrunching as you go - this will leave room to unfurl the raffia. (May need adult supervision depending on the age of the children).

Once dry, unravel the raffia fully to make the brim of the "witches" hat.

Fill with candy, screw the lid back on and enjoy or give as a gift.
Note: This same idea could be used for any occasion. Experiment and see what you can come up with.

Be sure to check back as I will be doing craft ideas for the next two weeks.  Also if you and/or your kids try this, please, send me a pic, I'd love to post them =)

Coffee Cup Creations - Mom-Preneurs

I love finding new and interesting products so when I came across Coffee Cup Creations, I just knew I had to "meet" the folks behind it.

Here's what Natalie Young, part of Coffee Cup Creations, had to say:

My sister and I started Coffee Cup Creations just eight months ago. I was actually going to my diabetic doctors appointment when the idea struck. It is something that is so nice for a diabetic or a person on a diet. Diabetics can eat sweets in very little moderation. The problem is most people are unable to stop at just a bite or two. Coffee Cup Creations is great for that because it just offers two servings with the cakes and breads which makes it impossible to completely over-indulge. It is also great for people on a diet. They are able to satisfy their sweet tooth without getting carried away.

I used to be a teacher. I taught the sixth grade with my sister. However, after having my second child, I had to make a very tough decision. I loved teaching, but I also wanted to spend my days with my children. After a lot of thinking and praying, my husband and I decided that I would take a year off to see how it would go. I simply loved being a stay-at-home mom.

This past year, my oldest daughter started kindergarten. This seemed like the perfect time for my sister and me to get our business started. With a lot of hard work and decisions to make, we put our ideas to work for us and now have Coffee Cup Creations to show for it.

We love the idea of Coffee Cup Creations. It gives everyone a great place to shop for a unique and perfect gift idea for anyone. They are two gifts in one with either an adorable coffee cup or soup mug with a wonderful tasting food mix inside. They are perfect for a secret pal, teacher, friend, mother, college student, bridesmaids, or the person who has everything.

They are also great for girls' birthday parties. The girls have so much fun making the cakes, and they are so easy to make that the moms enjoy it too. They can make and eat the cake and have a nice souvenir cup to take home as well.
