Empowered Through Organization

As I continue on with, Empowered Women Week, I wanted to look at different ways we as women can be more in charge of our lives. Not all changes need to be drastic or require a “self-help guru.” Sometimes small things have the greatest impact on the way we feel and our lives in general.

So it came to me…what could be more empowering than being organized?

Living in clutter and total chaos is stressful and anything but empowering – but clean it all up and get organized… ahhh - there’s no feeling quite like it.

To help you with this, I reviewed Beverly Coggins, (a Professional Organizer), 1-2-3-Get Organized; Three Steps to Organizing Your Child’s Room and Three Steps to Time Management for the Stay-at-Home Mom.

These mini-books are short and to the point, yet are packed full of solid, easy-to-follow information and time-saving tips.

Here’s a sneak peek into…

…Three Steps to Time Management for the Stay-at-home Mom:

Chapter 1 – What Matters Most, What Do You Love?...
Chapter 2 – Making a Plan That Works
Chapter 3 - Cheating Time – Getting More than 60 Minutes out of a Day

…Three Steps to Organizing Your Child’s Room:

Chapter 1 - Saying Goodbye to Unwanted and Unnecessary Items
Chapter 2 - Rearranging the Room into Functional Areas
Chapter 3 - Maintaining the System, Maximizing Space

These little books are a must have for getting organized. Check out Bev’s web site for more 1-2-3…Get Organized Books at; http://www.1-2-3getorganized.com/

Want to win the two books I reviewed? Leave me a comment in this blog spot and I will do a random draw on Sunday July 11th for one lucky winner.

Good Luck!

I agree with you that the secret to stress management is reigning in the chaos. Organization of stuff is one way to do it. But this way doesn't always work for me. Instead I've found that if three things are done, then I can feel life is manageable. These are: the cupboard is full, the floor is vaccumed, and the dishes are done. And all that stuff? Well, if it starts to get out-of-hand in the kids' rooms, I just close their doors. Out of sight, out of mind. The greatest advice on motherhood was given to me by the night janitor at the hospital who cleaned my room after I gave birth to my daughter. She said, "I had fun with my kids. We played a lot together. The house was messy. But they didn't mind what they stepped over. We were happy."

How to manage time as a work at home mum? I could so use that....I think I finally got a little better at it, but any tip that could make me better would certainly help. My initial problems was trying to not work when my kid is home andfeel guilty that I was not spending time with him..

I guess you get better with practice..and staying organized really does help...but at times we choose to work over doing the mundane routine like clearing the dishes and cleaning the house... hee hee

Thanks for joining my Party Time Giveaway Linky! I'm following you now!

I am so unorganized. I work FT and have Fibromyalgia so I'm afraid that time wise - I don't even have 60 minutes a day! LOL My usual method of organization is: Wake up feeling really good, grab a box (or trash bag) and send what I don't use (am tired of looking at) to the good will and the trash to the trash can until exhaustion hits, go to bed.

Isn't that awful! Tina
